Hiii!

Since 2022, I have been working in the office of a legacy airline. Because of that, I have the possibility to travel a lot and I already have seen amazing places around the world. My friends and colleagues always ask for tips and inspiration for their travels and I'm always willing to give them a long list with all my recommendations. But I was thinking, why not share those with the whole world?

You're probably also wondering why my blog is called 'Queen of the Jump Seat'. Because of my job at the airline, I have the possibility to fly staff standby which is cheaper but also consists of more risk. If there are no empty seats, you cannot go on the flight. One advantage of staff standby is that if there are crew seats (called jump seats) available and the crew is willing to occupy them, you might travel on these seats if there are no other seats available. It saved me already a few times and one of my co-workers said to me: "Wow, you're so often on a jump, you're a reel jump seat queen." And I can say, a lot of colleagues really hate these seats, but I prefer them above a middle economy seat. I like the peace & quiet on these seats but also the interactions with the crew.
